With their polarization and diversity, city and district centers form the face of cities and communities.  They always reflect demographic, economic, social and cultural developments.  Thus, they are also subject to strong changes.

With the new city construction promotion program “Active core areas in Hessen”, the inner cities and city centers should be revived and strengthened for the long run – with active participation from private investors.  The program is geared towards all cities and communities in Hessen that want to develop their centers sustainably and form them in a future-oriented way.  Particularly in focus: Impulse projects based on public-private partnerships.  New instrument:  The promoted communities can create a provision fund in order to awake and support stronger dedication among those involved.
