Development project Erbach in Odenwald

Goal: attractive residential area as a housing estate
Location: former agricultural area in the district town of Erbach between the city centre and the Dorf-Erbach area of the city
Basis: Charter of urban development (as of January 1995) and the city developmental plan (as of May 1998)
Scope: approx. 12 ha
Length of time: August 1998 development of the first section of building, Sale of the land ready for development, as of 1999, completion of the last stage of construction 2009
Investment: approx. 14.5 million € of public developmental investments (without private investments made by clients)

Where once fields lay upon which wheat and carrots were grown, there now stands detached, semi-detached and terraced houses in Erbach part of the city. A residential gap has been closed between the city centre and the Dorf-Erbach part of the city. The urban developmental project is a considerable contribution to the residential density in the centre of Odenwald, which has been formed by the cities Erbach and Michelstadt. The new estate is between the two cities. From the point of view of the provision of land for construction and of the financial scope, the project is of prominent meaning.

The development of the plots is using an urban development measure stated in the Baugesetzbuch (BauGB) - German construction code. The Nassauische Heimstätte is the fiduciary funding body. Every technical, urban developmental and economic assignment has been carried out in close partnership with the district town Erbach in an on site development office.
