Wiesbaden Künstlerviertel (artists' quarter)

Objective: Approximately one third of the former 'Güterbahnhofs West' (Freight Depot West), and initially all land owned by the Stadtentwicklungsgesellschaft Wiesbaden (Urban Development Corp. of Wiesbaden) will be opened up for innovative concepts and built on by the group from July 2007, under its own management.
Location: Quiet, central, adjacent to the Rheingau district, south of DotzheimerStrasse.
Procedure: Site development July 2007, Start of construction of first building area September 2007, third building area completed end of 2010
Scope: There will be a total of 91 houses and 134 apartments in the building groups with different types of residences.
Residential environment: The buildings are arranged around attractive courtyards, free from motor traffic. Landscaped with greenery and street furniture, they take on a quasi-public character as a play area for children and as resting and meeting areas for residents.
