An integrated handling concept – social city in Fulda-Aschenberg

Fulda-Aschenberg: the social conversion of the 1990‘s led to increased urban, housing and social problems here.

As an experienced service provider, Wohnstadt is not only a partner for the integrated formulation of handling concepts and the execution of  procedures of participation. It also assumes finance planning as well as the supervision of escrow accounts for procedure control in addition to project conception and implementation.

Wohnstadt developed a two-phase integrated handling concept for Fulda-Aschenberg in cooperation with the Social Work Department of the University of Applied Sciences of Frankfurt am Main and implemented this successfully: Level One served for the acquisition and analysis of all basic data. As an introduction into the dialogical planning process, discussions with the relevant actors had taken place up front. Based on this, Wohnstadt developed goals and concrete project ideas for the development process together with the city of Fulda. In Level Two, key projects and strategic ways for further implementation ultimately developed.

The broad participation of the residents in the planning and also in the execution of the development of the quarter, allowed Wohnstadt to achieve acceptance and support of the changes. A success, which is visible today in numerous measures.
