Inter-communal city redevelopment Russelsheim, Raunheim and Kelsterbach – concept development and management

The participating communes of Russelsheim, Raunheim and Kelsterbach were selected in 2006 as the inter-communal location for the federal state program “City Redevelopment in Hessen” from a number of contestants.  Create new potentials in a network – the three communes start a very promising, shared future through inter-communal city redevelopment.

Goal: Beyond the districts, the challenges of the economic, demographic and social changes should be mastered. The partner communes’ aim in their cooperation in city development tasks is the goal to design the region of Untermain as an attractive residential, working and retail location for the following generations. The themes include living, education and culture, infrastructure, transportation, tourism, retail sales and industry.
Location: Rüsselsheim, Raunheim, Kelsterbach - the Untermain region, between Frankfurt am Main and Wiesbaden in the metropolis region of Rhine-Main.
Basis: Appointment of NH ProjektStadt with the development of an inter-communal integrated city development concept, the development of communal integrated city development concepts and the city redevelopment management in the communes of Russelsheim, Raunheim and Kelsterbach.
Development: 2007/2008: Development of integrated city development concepts; parallel to the execution of city redevelopment management during the implementation of developed projects; further development of cooperation in all city development areas; subsidy management and subsidy acquisition; consulting and service for all city development questions; quality assurance and evaluation. Starting 2007: Continual public work and participation of the residents and all investors in workshops, exhibitions and informational events
Financing: Federal, state and communes
Investment: Total volume of about € 18 million until 2016
